How to Stay Persistent and Motivated to Achieve Your Goals

Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.”
― Winston S. Churchill

The key to building a successful Relationship Marketing business is passion and persistence. How do you keep up the motivation and stay persistent so you can overcome obstacles and keep moving forward?

Curate your Definite Purpose

This is a term that is thrown around a lot in this industry, but what does it actually mean? How do you come up with a Definite Purpose?

A definite purpose is a definite outcome.

This process seems easy enough, but it is something many people overlook when getting started on their success journey.

If you want to find a definite purpose that will light the fire of passion within you, there are a couple of things to consider.

  1. Money is a tool you can use to get what you want. Money itself is never enough of a driving force. You don’t want the money. You want the lifestyle that money can provide. In curating your Definite Purpose, it is important to consider the outcome you want, over the means necessary to achieve that outcome.
  2. Relationship Marketing is about helping people grow. If you help people get what they want, you will end up with what you want. True passion comes from making a difference in the world around you. Our desire should be focused on people. What talents and abilities do you have that can make the world a better place.
  3. Think about your talents. What are you good at? How can you use what you are good at to achieve your goals?

A definite purpose is a purpose. You are here for a reason. It is easy to let the demands of life get in the way, and because of this, the passion we might have had when we were younger, is replaced by the necessity of conformity. You have talents for a reason. That is who you are. Using your talents to achieve your definite purpose will make it easy for you. When you have a talent that is a unique combination of you, no one can do it as good as you. Think about all you have in the way of talents and decide how you can use those talents to achieve your definite outcome.

Determining your purpose is easy when you think about what is important

The best things in life are free, right? The talent God has given you is a gift. You have that talent so you can help people. Helping people achieve the outcome they want is relationship marketing.

If you have a product that can give someone the outcome they are looking for, you are helping them get what they want.

Rather than making your Definite Purpose about what you want, make it about developing a team of people who achieve the desires they want. The motivation behind your action is the driving force behind your passion.

Making YOUR purpose about other PEOPLE will ignite that passion. Passion is the driver of success. It gives you the ability to see things beyond your temporary experience, and that is what you are after when it comes to being persistent.

Make a Plan

It is impossible to stay motivated and persistent without a plan of action. Once you determine a definite purpose and what you want the outcome to be, you must start the planning process.

You can’t take action without a plan.

The thing you need to remember is that it does not have to be a perfect plan. You want to create a starting point so you can start making moves in the direction of your goals.

If you have a product that helps people, think about all of the different ways your product helps people.

Step 1 in your plan of action should be listing all of the features and benefits (advantages) of your product. Education should always be included in your overall plan. Spend a set amount of time each day learning new things. There are advantages to your product that have not been thought of. Think outside of the box to think of those advantages.

Step 2 would then be determining who your product will benefit. What is going to make your target audience want what you have? How are you going to bring the advantages of your product up in the midst of conversation? Thinking about the type of person who is going to want your product is an important step in the process.

Put a plan in place and start taking action.

Don’t put things off until tomorrow. Start working towards your goals today.

The more energy you put into the planning process, thinking about and laying out the process, the more successful that plan will be.

If you spend a lot of time thinking about your process, you are going to keep your motivation. Passion is going to become a natural part of what you do everyday and you will develop the persistence to see it through.

You should spend every day thinking about your plan and your process. Don’t be afraid to change things up either.

Schedule your day and make it a priority

If you have an accurately curated definite purpose, you are going to want to work towards that goal every day. You don’t want to burn yourself out on it either though.

Schedule your time and stick to that schedule. Set a portion of your day aside to work on achieving your definite purpose. Align your day around activities that are going to help you accomplish your goals.

Make it a point to be productive in all areas of life, not just business.

If you want to keep your motivation, think about what motivates you.

Are you motivated by spending more time with your family? Make spending more time with your family part of your process. Use the time spent with family to work on your Relationship Marketing skills.

Keep your Attitude in Check

When you have a clearly curated and defined purpose, it is much easier to keep a positive mental attitude. You aren’t in this for yourself alone. You are in it for your team. The more you help people, the better you will feel and the more motivated you will be.

Having a positive attitude will drive your motivation.

Even when you don’t feel like doing something, you will do it, because you have the right mental attitude about it, and you know that in the end, the process is going to yield results. Failure is a part of the process. When you realize failure and obstacles are a necessary part of the success journey, you can have a positive attitude no matter what your circumstance.

In summary, don’t forget why you are here. Listen to the voice inside of you. Get to know yourself better. Think about your talents and figure out how to use them. Be creative, always thinking outside of the box. If you do these simple things you will never lose motivation and you will always have the persistence to complete the task at hand.
